The best jewelry that you will not find on a corner is respect. The fact that you are in an authority position does not ensure respect will follow.   If the people under your command are experienced, respect might come naturally, just for a few moments until you have the chance to prove to them why you are there.  Demonstrated experience + skills are essential  . Unfortunately or not we belong to different social circles that place a lot of importance on what we can give to the world and how we do it. Until you prove your worth, do not expect more than the minimum level of respect from me.
