Unless we pay attention, history repeats itself.

IF YOU DEMAND RESPECT, IT WILL NOT COME

Once… I wanted to get married.

Unless we pay attention, history repeats itself.

Unless we pay attention, history repeats itself.

This morning, I received a message from a stewardess I once worked with (5 years ago), asking me for money.

At the time that I got into the Yachting Industry, she was a freelancer and at that time I would “admire” her because by the look that she had, she fit the stereotype of “Perfect” for the industry: blondie, thin, blue-eyed, middle 20’s-30’s and native English speakers.

In my experience, I recently had to work with someone of this type; my personal feeling is: This industry opens so many doors to young and energetic people no matter your age, experience or nationality. But if they don't have the maturity to manage all the new resources or the capacity to say NO to drugs, alcohol, and excessive expenses, one day they will be left with nothing but debt, anxiety, depression and a huge hangover.

I think… I’ll be receiving this type of “emergency calls” sooner again.

These people empathize the fact that I came from a third world country, but their countries are the ones that consume everything and suffer from depression along with extensive family problems.

On my part, I am grateful to all the guardians whom I have encountered and taken care of me . I am grateful for this type of mirror, which shows me what might happen if I don’t pay attention to who surrounds me or from whom I seek advice.
